Palin is a sick and deranged person.
It is very sad that this woman would kill an animal just to promote her public image. It is rather disturbing.

I like to think of the scene from the movie "Last of the Mohicans" as for how hunters SHOULD think of the life they have taken. For those who can't recall or haven't seen that scene, after an amazing on foot chase, Daniel Day Lewis and his two Mohican fellow hunters shoot the deer with a single fatal shot. They then surround the animal and take time to say a prayer of gratitude for the animals' sacrifice for them. It is actually a moving scene.

Palin, well, I'll just leave it there...

13. Re: Last of the Mohicans..
Here's a little tip, just in case, (like me) you have been frustrated by the refusal to release the actual cinema version on DVD, rather than the director's cut that eliminates several scenes as well as the CLannad song. While, it appears the only way to get that version on DVD is to buy a foreign copy (Brazil has compatible versions), you can download that original version on Itunes, if you are so inclined. ;)

I have seen that movie several times and am still amazed at how action-packed and thus how quickly it moves. One of my favorites, for sure.

21. Apparently she missed by so much that the animal was not warned and, then, if they were facing into
the wind, or there was some kind of covering sound, it wouldn't have heard the report. I imagine you can also do things like station guards in 4 directions within easy sight of the elk, but not of the cameras, so the elk would likely not run toward something that it could see as a possible threat. Why else would dad say "he's not going anywhere"?

31. There could have been a natural barrier of some sort behind it. It was on a rise, so you'd
need something still in sight but just far enough away on the left, right, and behind you to make it cautious. So it wouldn't run without a reason which she never gave it, until she got the gun with the big-X-marks-the-spot scope on it.

Frakking pathetic :puke:

40. The "X-marks the spot" crosshairs that you see were special effects. Theres no way they could

focus their camera down a real scope for a shot like that.

Also, notice how she has to ask if the rifle kicks, and she needs "dad" to work the bolt on the rifles. Its clear she's never fired either of those rifles before. The freepers are making excuses for her and saying that the rifle's scope was damaged or that it wasn't sighted in. But anyone familiar with hunting or gun safety knows you don't shoot an animal with a weapon you know is defective.

And they also don't definitively show it was Sarah's shot that took down the animal. They edit the footage to look that way, but anyone else present could have actually shot the caribou.

10 bucks says theres corn cobbs or half eaten apples all over that ridge.

I'm all for hunting, but what was shown here was definitely amateur hour. It was obviously canned in some way. The animal was either baited, or confined by some sort of fence or wall on the other side of that ridge.

Sarah Palin is someone who has no business around firearms until she learns to handle them safely. And she has no business hunting until she learns some damn marksmanship. Its just bad sportsmanship to keep shooting at an animal like that. A real hunter would have dispatched the animal as quickly and painlessly as possible. She should have let a better shooter take the shot.

17. Out of two guns!
The guy changed her gun because Sarah kept aiming high. In Real Alaskans' Alaska, you take the gun out back and put a few rounds downrange before you go hunting just to check your sighting.

27. Actually, it was 6 shots.
And you are right. She didn't deserve to hit it.

There were plenty of things wrong with that clip.

Mainly that they were so desperate to get that animal at any cost.

For ratings.

Someone didn't check their gear, or didn't care for their gear. No reason to have a rifle that far off zero on a hunting trip.

16. This is what I saw...
1. No one in HELL wears makeup to go hunting--in case you guys weren't aware, it's got perfume in it and animals can smell it. Not critical but irksome. Yes, I know makeup is required for television, but eye makeup isn't. (Of course, if you soak yourself in deer piss--they sell it at sporting goods stores--you won't have this problem.)

2. "Does it kick?" Yes, Sarah, high-powered rifles kick.

3. Can't work the bolt on a rifle.

4. The woman is not wearing one square inch of orange, nor are the two men who are with her. It's legal to hunt without orange clothing on in Alaska, but it's even stupider than she is to do it that way.

5. She had to fire five rounds out of two different guns to kill the poor beast.

This is how you hunt in Sarah Palin's Alaska. In Real Alaskans' Alaska, you can make a 150-meter shot in one round and you can cycle the bolt on your own.

Can't load her own weapon, or work the bolt? Jerking the trigger so bad she's missing the damn thing by a mile. Pathetic display by a completely unskilled hack. I've departed the company of much better so called " hunters" than that because I couldn't stand to watch. What a phoney baloney piece of shit she is.

The first rule I was taught was that you don't take a shot unless you're 100% sure you're going to make a clean, quick kill with one shot. What a disgusting display of utter disrespect and disregard for anything but herself. I can't see how any true hunter could watch that and think she ought to be the local dog catcher, let alone president. :grr:
