So The Tax Cuts For The Wealthy Will Expire In 2012
That means they will expire right in the middle of the 2012 election. Presumably President Obama will oppose them during his reelection campaign.

If he wins reelection it means Americans oppose them. If he loses , well you know what it means...

1. They expire after the election
And we wouldn't want to hurt our nascent recovery by raising taxes, right?

They'll never go up.

9. It Is Essential There Will Be No Interruption In Folks Unemployment Benefits
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 06:52 PM by DemocratSinceBirth
For some unemployment insurance is the only thing that stands between them and homelessness, starvation, and freezing to death.

I am willing to make "tax cuts for the rich" the centerpiece of the 2012 election...

11. They were the centerpiece of the 2008 election
Obama promised 1,000 times to end them.

What difference will it make if he promises again?

This is demoralizing. Look:

7. so the Repubs have set up Obama
to run with the campaign slogan of:

"The largest TAX INCREASE in the history of the nation."

Yeah, way to go.... let the tax cuts expire now and with an improving economy no one would even remember.

But now... in 2012 if the economy is good, and he wants to raise taxes people will shit. And the rich will donate HEAVILY to the Pubs. If the economy is bad he may agree to extend the cuts til 2014 and risk the wrath of the base.

fiddle. Like a fucking fiddle. Explain to me HOW the Pubs could have scripted this any better?

10. I think the tax cuts for the top 1% will simply be extended into perpetuity.
Everybody can then keep saying that they are temporary, that the next vote will simply extend the cuts another two years. And then the next vote, and then the one after that...
