You can go here: http://www.intrade.com/jsp/intrade/common/c_cd.jsp?conDetailID=652754&z=1291681318739Right now, the betting markets have Obama not just running, but WINNING the nomination at 85%. You think it's 0%. If you disagree, you have the perfect opportunity.

he can do what ever he wants and the GOP can't do anything about it? Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I've met the President and he is a very very intelligent man, I don't believe that he does anything without thinking about the future consequences. Curse me out all you want, thats what I believe.

They give up on anything quickly if it doesn't meet their impossible standards, so they think Obama is that fickle as well.

i'm so angry right now that i can't stand to be on DU more than 5 minutes, but every president disappoints. in 2017 you'll look back on it and think that, on the whole, he was light years better than John McCain would have been, not to mention *. hell, i still think he'll be better than Clinton.

As of now, there is no credible GOP candidate to run against him in the general election.
As much as I think Obama is messing up right now, there is nothing on the radar to stop him winning re-election.

These threads are going to be amusing when re-election season ramps up.
He's responsible for getting unemployment extended when the Republicans banded together to say a big FUCK YOU to the long-term unemployed.
Ask someone who's been relying on that money for food and rent whether he screwed up.
Susan Collins tipped the Senate Republicans' hand when she said she consider DADT repeal AFTER the tax issue was dealt with. Translation: Give us something on these taxes or we will gladly obstruct every damn thing you want to accomplish. Unlike Blue Dog Dems, Republicans know how to walk the walk when they need to unify.
So...unless you vote these jackasses out of Congress, they will have to be addressed.

18. No, Obama really believes he will be re-elected in two years (2012) - Don't Dems ever think ahead? |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-06-10 07:30 PM by GreenTea
The republicans know that all they needed is just these two more years of extending the Bush's tax cuts and then the republicans will have the power back in 2012 to make these sickening deficit raising tax cuts for themselves & richest 2% - PERMANENT!
Obama caved in, folded like a cheap chair, he thinks he's going to be re-elected...to stop the republicans from making the unfair NO jobs producing tax cuts for the rich permanent - Get Real...NOT A CHANCE! - The rich got what they want and paid the republicans and their shills for!
Permanent tax cuts for the wealthy - and they will have them permanently in two years!
Don't Dems ever think ahead?

opposition that goes above and beyond any similar partisan battle in its universal, anti-American hell-bent goal to destroy the president personally, politically and functionally. The GOP is willing (openly so!) to work against this nation and it's citizens to this end - and I may be wrong, but this seems unprecedented - if not in concept, at least in scope and level of disastrous consequences.
His supporters are leaving in droves on top of it.
I would be surprised if history doesn't end up describing the circumstances this president entered into and/or had to face during his first two years as being the most difficult of any CinC thus far.
Regardless of how personally disappointed I may be on any given issue, I fully believe that Obama is a man of true integrity, fairness, intelligence and leadership rarely seen in a lifetime (if lucky). Unfortunately, he's black, and that seems to have made unfathomable attacks viewed as fair game (they're not).
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I think the fact that the GOP recognized just how formidable this leader is - also accounts for the extraordinary measures taken to destroy him (and the country as collateral casualty without hesitation). If that itself isn't a definition of treason or something equally condemning, then I don't know what is.
I'm not in the Oval Office, so I don't know what this president has to weigh in his decision making, but it's horrifying to see his leadership being strong-armed and coerced as it is - the country itself used as their hostage.
And so many deserters....
yikes.
