victory.
They give away too much and get too little. They let the GOP rule the roost even when the Dems are in the majority.

And they ALWAYS learn the wrong lesson from elections. "Tack RIGHT" and "abandon them that brung ya" seem to be their guiding themes.

I am discouraged. If the Dems really WANT the corporatists and GOP to win then they are certainly doing everything absolutely perfectly.

1. I see. We were expecting a Democratic victory in
congress. I did not know that. Yup, the House and the Senate were just going to have a joint kumbaya epiphany. Got it. I stand corrected.

2. No Skidmore - I merely HOPED that the CHANGE i fought for included a few progressive ideas
I have supported Obama and said to those who ranted that he was trying to bring the nation together... I believed it. Now I think we needed a true leader who was willing to draw a line in the sand and say BEYOND THAT I WILL NOT BEND.
Someone with PRINCIPLES and true BELIEFS.

What we got was another spineless Dem getting rolled by the repukes.

Sorry - i really like Obama, I just believe he is far too willing to bend over instead of bitch-slapping the bastards.

3. Did they have a super majority? YES
did they squander it? Yes.

And when the pubbies are out of power they get their agenda, when they are in power they get their agenda.

See why people are PISSED OFF?

It is time to fight... it's been way past time to fight... I mean this way away from keyboards. like in the streets.

But this is about us vs them, not democrats vs republicans...

7. But that was some time ago
Talk about "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory" rather implies it has just happened.

8. The "supermajority" is a myth
Franken was sworn in on July 7, 2009, as the "60th" vote. Scott Brown was sworn in in February 2010. That's only 6 months. The Dems did NOT have a supermajority for the entire 2 year period. Besides, we have to deal with Nelson and Lincoln and all those other conservative Democrats. Not that more couldn't have been accomplished, but it wasn't that easy.

9. Nice myth you are working there
they had them in BOTH houses... and they REFUSED to use them at any one moment

Also riddle me this batman... the republicans have a razor thin edge and they get their agenda, we have strong majorities and cannot tie our shoes?

Why do you think people are PISSED?

5. You are right
They play their role - i.e. "Washington Generals" to Harlem Globetrotters. They are the other face of the same coin and are in this for themselves - it seems.
