What I do like about the compromise:
1) Extension for the unemployed for 13 months
2) 2% in payroll tax for working folks
3) Immediate tax write-offs for capital expenditures for small business
4) Estate tax at 35% after the $5 million limit (could have been much worse)
5) Tax cuts for most middle class Americans
6) $1000 tax credits for children (an original Obama idea)
7) We will hammer the GOP over them wanting to extend this further in 2012?
8) They can never say Obama is not working with them
9) Odds are we will have the same deficits but they can't now blame Obama for?
10) What else can they ask for now?

1. They can ask for evne more cuts
and SS is on the table.

Wrong table.

It needs to be the defense, and by more than 90%.

5. Meaning, a de-funding of SS, despite it being 'in crisis'.
We're not making enough money to cover our expenses! Quick! Reduce our income!

6. Don't forget, the Repubs. are still trying to impeach Obama. If

they don't have a reason, they'll invent one. You know they're good at inventing.

On the other hand, the progressives have much to beef about because Obama has given
almost everything that the Repubs. had wanted.

This time we must not hedge about saying to them often and loud, that they think it okay
for our nation to borrow another $700 billion from foreign countries just to give their
super-rich money to cover their bonuses. Their greed and satanic selfishness come through
loud and clear. With their extra money they'll have the power to dominate the rest of
our nation.

7. ..uh #7?
Why haven't "we" ...read the president and our party leaders....been doing that already? Why haven't they been shouting from the rooftops that the republicans will stop at nothing to get their precious tax breaks? The tax breaks that apply to them as well as all their rich buddies? Why haven't we been on the front page of every newspaper and on every TV and radio show non stop pointing out again and again that tax breaks for the rich don't create jobs...and anyone who says they do is lying? Why haven't we been telling the country in no uncertain terms that if the republicans are so concerned about the deficit...why aren't they concerned enough to raise taxes on the rich..just to where they were during the Clinton years? What makes you think they'll start doing that at some point in the future?

We've had our chance and we blew it!
