Julian Assange is in Custody. Osama bin Laden is not. |
|
Doesn't that tell you something?
I'm interested to know just what some 'diplomats' have said about the failure/unwillingness to catch bin Laden. I'll be looking for it in the leaks.

3. It tells me Assange is being compared to a terrorist. |
|
Neither with the good of the world on their minds.

13. But it's the 'terrorist' that inconveniences the establishment, |
|
not the 'terrorist' that murders thousands of 'little people', that faces prosecution.
That's not an accident.

14. Well you can call Assange a terrorist if you want, but I don't think he is one. |
|
I just think he's egotistical and doesn't have the worlds best interests in mind. Seems like he's playing politics, and not very well.

16. Well, that was kind of my point. |
|
He's only a 'terrorist' in the sense that making members of the establishment uncomfortable is a heinous crime while killing thousands is barely worth their notice.
It's the double standard, of course.
I truly believe Assange does have the world's best interests in mind. I have long thought of ways to peaceably disrupt the establishment, and asked myself many times if I would do it for the sake of self-aggrandizement or because I truly wanted to see significant changes in my lifetime. I have concluded that although fame or infamy may find me for such things, that those would merely be incidental to the agenda. Indeed, they might even be helpful.
I am fairly convinced that Assange believes much the same thing.

They could use talent like his. Though I highly doubt he'd want to join the forces of darkness.
