Dems Do It Again, Give The Republicans What They Want- Embarrassed to call yourself a dem yet? |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 10:01 AM by EV_Ares
WASHINGTON – Republicans Achieve Top Goal In Obama Tax-cut Plan:
"Republicans control neither the House nor the Senate — and certainly not the White House. But they largely dictated the terms of President Barack Obama's proposed tax-cut compromise, which disgruntled congressional Democrats want to discuss in closed meetings that are likely to be rowdy." ------------------------------------------------------------
All I can say is when the dems are in the minority, they cry, we are the minority, if we had the majority.............
Then when they get the majority, they cry, but, but the republicans are obstructing, we need MORE of a majority.
The republicans regardless of minority or majority just attack, they claim what they want, they fight for what they want, they are ruthless but look how they come out in the end, they win.
Dems just cry.

I've voted for Repubs before, but it was back when they were real Repubs, not fascists.

5. Yeah, I still do in certain cases. Mostly in local elections where you know those who are |
|
running and sometimes the better candidate is the republican over the democrat. You are right, the republican party was different but now as former Senator John Danforth, a republican conservative is saying now; they have moved so far to the right, they are beyond redemption.
What is worse though, is the dems handing them whatever they want to further their cause.

6. Then don't. The DLC has certainly proved that they are closer to the GOP than to |
|
any realistic definition of a Democrat.

8. No, I am not. I am a proud democrat and proud Obama supporter. He is the only |
|
adult in the room. The reason I voted for him. We need a sane person in these times, not a rash cowboy who loves a game of chicken.

10. Understand, no, don't need a rash cowboy but what the point is having Obama if he is going |
|
to always give the right what they want because as you feel an adult. That adult is not doing the working man or others who are in favor of programs needed by those who are not the wealthy.

You don't know a thing about Republicans! Look at it from their view, please. Just inform yourself.

I am embarrassed that this site continues to call itself Democratic underground especially when posts like this are allowed.
I am proud of Obama and his accomplishments of which there are many and despite all the nitpicking that can be done of each individual piece of legislation there has been an amazing amount of progress made considering the congress he had to work with.
The idea that the Dem's hold the majority and can do what they want assumes the Dem's stick together. Something that cant even be done on a message board forget about in the halls of power. The senate is and has been broken for a long time now and until they fix the rules this country will continue to be held hostage by the minority.
As someone above said Obama is the only adult in the room at this point and i have nothing but admiration for him and his willingness to continue working for progress despite the cat calls from all sides of the aisle.

16. Switched to Independent thanks to Obama & the actions of the Dem majority. |
|
I can still vote in primaries here and will vote for the Dem 99.9% of the time but no, I'm no longer a Democrat. I didn't desert the party, they deserted me.
