Yesterday, the GOP held America hostage
and Obama paid the ransom.

Let us not forget the most salient point in our rage.

2. I'm angry too
but I didn't want this most important point to go unnoticed. I, myself, forgot it yesterday and it wasn't until today that I remembered who the real enemy is.

3. The deficit goes up almost another $trillion dollars in two years.
What will they cut to get that deficit monster under control? Obama may have sealed his defeat with this decision.

5. You know what they will cut, we know the republican playbook,
and I am of the opinion Obama will go right along with it. I have noticed that the poor and elderly don't exist in his world anymore.

6. You'll not get me to argue that Obama played master chess here
or anything of the sort. But, the Republicans were not going to negotiate. The Party of No has now become The Party of Terror. The held a fucking gun to the heads of innocent people and said, give us the fucking money or we blow America's brains out. That's terrorism.

It worked for Bin Laden and we can now see, it also works for the GOP.

4. Not only did he pay, like all weaklings, he showed he is willing to sell out
anything, even core positions, to stay in the big club.

8. That was completely my opinion yesterday
Today, I'm angry at the terrorists. I'm frustrated that Obama chose to give in to terrorists. It sets a really, really bad precedent(see if they don't use it again, again, and fucking again!).

7. The upcoming debate is going to be good for our side.
Honestly I think we're now in a better position politically than most of us realize. It just requires thinking beyond the "now".

10. Obama's going to show some real fighting spirit now, though
And those fucking House Democrats just better mind their p's and q's if they don't want a good shellacking.

12. Yeah, not so much
He paid the ransom and now he's going to try to get us to understand that sometimes you really do have to negotiate with terrorists. And since my ex husband is one of the hostages, I am predisposed to be thankful, even though I know it makes the rest of his tenure as President come from a really weak place.

17. Those of us here at the bottom
Edited on Wed Dec-08-10 12:07 PM by ProudDad
are going to HAVE to join up...

I'm on the losing end of this latest surrender -- I have to live on Social Security alone...

Even though the REAL costs of living are going up, I've had my meager S.S. check frozen for the last 2 years...

And now they've set it up to make S.S. look even worse on paper to help the republicans in their war on the poor and old...

Imagine if just 1% of the 60 million of us who have been seriously hurt by this latest cave-in decided to lobby their Congresscritters...

Of course, there's no danger of that because those in charge (you know, the ones who paid to have Obama and most of Congress in office) have marginalized us by dividing to conquer and rendered us too poor to travel to D.C.

16. Just about 6 hours later
Obama proved that he DID know he has a bully pulpit but that he'll only use it to beat up his base.

This has not been a good day for Democrats.

14. The PTB have used the well being of this public as leverage to manipulate him from the word go.
And I have said here more than once that what Obama needs to remember is the stats on the mortality rate of hostages once extortionists get what they want. I believe it's like 8 and a half out of ten times, the hostages get taken out anyway. That other shoe will drop, with a heavy heel and smack dab hard on the collective toe.

The rebuttican party is just the PTB's handiest weapon in terms of proximity to the political process on the whole.

Rage draws fire, I want reason and the rule of law to prevail. All we gotta do to see that through is insist that it be equally enforced.
