Does anyone doubt that Dick Cheney spied heavily on Democrats?
I, for one, would bet a ton that Cheney used the awesome powers of the NSA to collect info on many, many Democrats. Sadly, it would only take compromising a few key Democrats to still have effective control over much of the working of our government. Could this have been part of the "deal" that got Obama elected?

The same holds true with many in our media. Cheney digs up some career ending dirt on a journalist and then he owns them.

La Cosa Nostra has been doing it for decades with politicians and judges. Why not Cheney?

3. That was the amazing thing about the Bush Era...
they had the authority to (and probably did) snoop on everyone...

But the Bush-Cheney White House was almost totally opaque, a complete information black hole.

And if society is so self rightous that they do not know that some of the better people have some flaws.

Since some of the better people are on the front lines.

Or as Abe said, Never met a good person without some flaws.

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
Abraham Lincoln

The only destruction is self destruction.

As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy.

Why would someone want to own someone else?

Why if I do say something true, I don't need nor ask for credit.

Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.
Abraham Lincoln

And a note to those that believe in reputation first.

Common looking people are the best in the world: that is the reason the Lord makes so many of them.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

5. Does anyone believe that shredders catch fire unless they're really, really overworked?
Remember the fire in Dick's Office (actually his Political Director, Amy Whitelaw) in the Old Executive Office Bldg. on 12/19/07? :tinfoilhat:

7. I'm sure that is how they got Elliot Spitzer
The most powerful politician willing and able to take on the financial moguls was brought down by a hooker

Meanwhile, someone like Vitter keeps getting re-elected
