3. Did you get to the last sentence?
There is a long, long way to go. This sounds like the "dead cat bounce" of the job market.

5. Can't anyone on this board be optimistic?
It's not going to change overnight. It's going to improve a little before it improves a lot.

2. Got to get rid of that nasty corporate tax...
It's preventing corporation from building all those new factories in the USA that they are just itching to build except for that nasty corporate tax (which no one pays.)

And after that it will be any taxes for people who make a million a year. Et cetera.

4. Just give it a week or two, unemployment will probably fall to 4% or less. Everyone
is just lining up to create millions of jobs, just like that. These tax cuts have worked so well to create jobs for years and years, no reason to doubt them now. Ain't this all great!!! What a F'en charade.

Tick Tock Tick Tock, bitches! The jobs engine better fire up and fire up FAST.

See, why is it that we cannot hold the champions of unbridled Trickle Down capitalism to their WORDS? We should be asking these assholes who think Tax Cuts for the Rich = Jobs, well, where the HELL are the JOBS??? Every single DAY we should be asking this.

17. No
It is a fact that as the incomes got higher the tax savings was tiny. Big busniss made huge profits this year-so they are not hurting. Over seas labor is cheap, that is why jobs are gone not taxes.

Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 01:42 PM by Egnever
You like so many other on this board and elsewhere refuse to acknowledge that this isn't about the top 2 percenters its about the lower 95% the top tax cuts will have little to no effect but losing the lower cuts would be disastrous to millions of people who are just barely holding on.

The deficit is not the most important thing we are facing and throwing the rich a bone wont make one bit of difference in our economy. Its the lower 95% Obama is fighting and compromising for.

25. Where you are mistaken is
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 02:00 PM by Robyn66
I am only talking about the myth that the 1% or 2% who are getting the tax break that arent going to create jobs. I never said anything else. I have no problem with everyone else getting the tax cuts. I absolutely agree with you otherwise.

The Rethugs say the rich MUST get the tax cuts and will destroy everyone else if they dont. They say its because the rich create jobs. That is a MYTH. If the Democratic congress could do its job, we could get some real things accomplished for the people who are REALLY hurting in this country.

If that is what the Republicans want to say then they need to be held accountable. I want to see the jobs that this tax break for the rich are creating. I find it interesting the number of Democrats defending the Republicans on this point.

But I'm not going to ask every Republican, I'm going to ask every Democrat. The Republicans don't answer to me, the Democrats who allowed this do.

due to the tax breaks for the middle class expiring or unemployment running out.

You acknowledge the fact that if these cuts were to expire and unemployment benefits were allowed to lapse that it would be disastrous yet you had to post a piss on the compromise post cause you don't like the framing of the top tax cuts?

Sorry but I find that pathetic.

26. Did you actually read my post?
I will try and explain this again. And if you really need to continue to represent the Republican defence of the ultra rich good for you. I am simply stating, if as the Republicans have been contending the ultra rich HAD to have the tax cuts to CREATE JOBS then WE (the Democrats) need to hold the Republicans accountable for that position. I dont know if I can be any clearer.

You seem determined to project an entirely different topic about President Obama's compromise on this thread and that has NOTHING to do with what I am talking about here.

19. Ask the 90% of American workers who have jobs
Allowing all of the tax cuts to expire may have caused there to be less jobs then there currently are. Allowing unemployment benefits to expire would have been disastrous to to the long-term unemployed.

27. So why aren't we creating all these jobs now?
Bush had how many years to create those jobs with those tax cuts -
We should be floooded with jobs.

And wasn't Obama talking about how there are jobs
That won't be coming back?
