5. yes, that is correct. And in another context, I guess I'm all for it
but how do you prosecute a law like that--it is absurd. It was a mere excuse to get Assange in custody so he can disappear to a black site if they think they can get away with it.

And make no mistake, all other journalists are at risk of the same treatment now.

21. Lieberman announced he wants to look into charges for
any media outlet that reprinted the WikiLeaks docs.

How dare someone air our dirty laundry.

2. why is his attitude any different than the average male's? The women offered casual sex,
and he agreed.

If his condom broke with Casual #1, it was an accident. If he didn't use a condom with Dumbie #2, it's her fault as much as his. No crime here, this is a trumped up charge.

And the women are probably pissed to learn he's falling into bed with the other one, which is often what happens when you agree to casual sex!

4. Must be a language problem
Media over in Sweden are writing about charges of sexual molestation, sexual coercion and rape.

Never heard of "sex by suprise"...

7. "sex by suprise" was coined by Mr. Assange's attorneys. Some people,
apparently unfamiliar with the fact that criminal defense attorneys can and do distort and mischaracterize the charges against their clients. Why? Public pressure sometimes makes a DA offer a better deal, it poisons the jury pool, and, most of all--it makes the client feel like you've done something for the retainer.

6. Remember Al Capone. Arrested for jaywalking.
They'll grasp at any pretext. It's all bullshit.

The women were CIA agents who knew exactly what they were doing

Catlin states that neither of the women's police statements "complain of rape."

"But then neither complained to the police but rather 'sought advice,' a technique in Sweden enabling citizens to avoid just punishment for making false complaints," Catlin alleges.

If he didn't stop when she asked him to, it's rape.

compared notes. Ardin tried to delete messages that prove Assange's innocence but she wasn't successful.

17. Well I didn't shout to the world when I was raped either.
And I'm pretty sure most date rape victims do either.

I'm not saying he's guilty, I'm just waiting for all the facts to come out before I refer to these women as the "honey traps" as another DUer did.

18. Both of them had breakfast with them. Wilen who made the more serious charge
went out bought stuff for breakfast and came back and they ate it together. Did you do that with your rapist?

15. More details from the court hearing today--one was asleep, one pinned down.
Mr Assange faces two counts of sexual molestation, one count of unlawful coercion and one count of rape involving two women in Sweden in August.

In the most details yet released about the allegations, Ms Lindfield said that in the cases of both women the allegations related to him refusing to wear a condom during sex. He was also accused of having sex with one of the women by exploiting the fact that she was asleep, and another count said that he had held a woman's arms and forced open her legs so he could have sex with her.

If those allegations are true, then it's rape.

13.  I think some have unearthed some docs containing more than just gossip
But he does seem to keep a high profile. Hubris, perhaps, as he has been outspoken about the historical import of "cablegate". Anonymity might have been a safer and less distracting style.

14. He's not charged with 'sex by suprise.' That's a term used by his lawyers, only.
