Fond memories of a bygone era
Remember how happy we were January 21st, 2009?

Such a simpler, happier time.

1. On the night of November 4th, 2008, I remember seeing people so overcome with emotion...
...that they slipped through the arms of their friends to the ground, where they sat and wept.

I will never forget those images or the faces of the people I saw that night. The young, who held their camera phones up to record the flash coming across CNN. And those much older, who mostly stood still, holding each other and very frequently with tears tracking down their cheeks.

The President can choose to capitulate from those people, those people who thought they had been freed. But they're still out there, desperate for the American political system to free them from the tyranny which- unspeakable a dozen years ago- is the dreadful "normal" which is sold as some elevation of America when it undermines all that so many have lost limb and life to defend and promote.

2. All the birds in the trees, they were singing so happily...
Then the bad man killed the singing birds.

5. It has been a great learning experience
for many.

When you let process words, (that you fill-in for yourself because they have no specific content) utilized as slogans motivate or stimulate you, there comes a time when you see how manipulative that can be.

Granted, there was a lot of speech-giving with some rhetorical content during the "aware-winning" campaign, but hope and change were the dominant theme. Well, you can still have hope and things are always changing, (because it is a constant), however, the contents of those abstractions, that we filled-in, have changed drastically.

Hope for the change of what by whom and when specifically?

I would hope that we will find change and flexibility within ourselves in order to transcend the manipulated disappointments we now can recover from so that our inherit flexibility, (adaptation) will our energy to flow where our attention then goes.

"It's the real thing. In the back of your mind. What you're hoping to find. It's the real thing." Get that?
