Today the Republicans want tax concessions, what will they demand next for the President to cave on? |
|
You cannot satisfy this beast, no matter what you give them, it will not end.
And the president doesn't realize that either. They will keep pushing, he will keep conceding.
ARRRRGGGHHHHH.

6. I did like his hostage negotiation. He said the Republicans |
|
were holding the American people hostage, and as a rule, he doesn't like negotiating with hostage takers, unless the hostages could be harmed. Real good framing of the issue.
So it is apparent that if he hadn't given the rich tax cuts, the working class would have been hurt. I think he has just driven a knife into the Republicans. Now we need him to give it a real good twist.
He has framed the Republicans as only concerned with the rich, and that they were willing to make the rest of us suffer if the rich don't get everything they want.

get everything they wanted, and we know what happens when they don't get instant gratification.

Why the hell didn't he say that before he gave in to the hostage takers and add that he wasn't going to capitulate to political terrorism?

And this is not a done deal. But what is done is Obama positioning himself as a pragmatist. That's his long term game to bring independents back into the fold.
The short term game was getting an extension of emergency unemployment insurance, and an extension of cuts in payroll taxes for the middle class.
This is class warfare, and the most important aspect of this war is identifying the enemy: the Rich, and the Republicans that only care about the rich. He did that today.

14. Years ago, I met this Repug woman and her big issue about government waste |
|
was the school free lunch program for poor kids. This woman (who clearly never missed a meal in her life) was outraged that her tax dollars paid for some kid's lunch. That was probably the only time in my life I felt like killing someone.
