29. yeah, just like last time.... |
|
My "favorite" memory of the Reagan presidency was the way he campaigned the first time on a platform of fiscal responsibility, then ran up the largest national debt in history during his first term. But then, lo and behold, he ran his SECOND campaign on the same fiscal responsibility message, and got reelected, despite his awful record. People are idiots. They'll believe ANYTHING someone in authority tells them, even when the evidence in front of their faces contradicts it.

Worse than having our media in full gleichschaltung to the Kinder and Gentler Nazis, is the absolute abrogration of "our" side to any duty whatsoever to the bottom 80% of the American Subject Populace.

23. My best guess...in two years President Obama will switch to the Republican Party. |
|
Yes...I'm joking. I hope I'm joking.
Forgive me, but I can't see him fighting his way out of a paper bag.
The only people he can fight are his "friends", the Democrats, because his friends try to play nice.
Democrats need to worry about their priorities, not President Obama's priorities. Democrats need to push their priorities in spite of President Obama and the Republicans.
Sure...we won't get many of our priorities done...but our base will feel better and fight harder.
The middle class, the poor, and the elderly might learn we stand for them while the Republicans stand for the rich.
I wait for President Obama to switch political parties as the wind blows. He will take a page from Lieberman. We might as well start viewing President Obama as a Republican now...will save a lot of time and misunderstanding.
Cynicism is unhealthy. Why am I so cynical? Maybe it's because Obama has fooled me too many times.

When is later? All you ever hear is later, voters, voters later "What's your rush, voters? Shush, voters! Goodness, how you gush, voters!"
As I've often stated, It's intolerable being tolerated. "Reassure voters, Poor voters. Voters, you'll endure Being pure, voters." Though We've been born, We've never been! How can we wait around for later? We'll be ninety on our deathbead And the late, or, rather, later, great United Staters.
Doesn't anything begin?
Apologies to Sondheim and everybody else too.

59. Yes, he said the same thing 2 years ago - and the republicans will be ready for him 2 years from now |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 05:28 PM by GreenTea
Yes by some unforeseen need by the democrats now, they will again be in perfect position for the republicans to kick their asses again, put out there by the republicans who will again out maneuver, put pressure on Obama and 'force' him to sign another tax cut for the richest 2% extension.
The republicans and the wealthy are NOT just going to give up these tax cuts - it going to take pain & suffering on our part to make it happen but that will NEVER happen people need unemployment insurance and the republican are always thinking ahead - and they already know how they will get the tax cuts extended in two years and then get them made permanent & law when they are in power the next time!!

then he will be asking his good buddies Mitch and the Boner, how much they can increase the tax cuts for the rich, and how much they will need to cut benefits to the poor and the middle class to afford said increase.
