1. Why do people freak out over something they took out of context?
Is anybody willing to really deal with what's actually going on, or are they more interested in having tantrums?

After he said that, he laid down the expectation that Boehner would have to GOVERN after he is sworn in rather than be a bomb-thrower.

It's pretty unsettling that so many Progressives here are happy to sing the "Get Obama out of office" song. The Republicans are happy to dance to that.

I hope this place isn't indicative of the population as a whole. I think it's healthier if this environment can be considered a bubble or an outlier.

7. Oh please!
Yes, after Obama caved on extending tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires, thus
continuing the Bush legacy--he then says, "Well ok, but after they've run over Democratic
ideals with a Mack Truck, I'm going to make SURE that Bohner plays fair! That'll get em!"

Are you frickin kidding me? You don't think that is embarrassing??

Republicans are laughing their ASSES OFF at us!

The Republicans just cajoled Obama into kow towing to the corporate elite millionaires in
this country---and after being shellacked Obama tells Republicans that they darn well better
behave in the future. By golly!

These are dark days for our party...and I don't know how in world anyone could spin this
positively. It is shameful and beyond the pale.

12. That's funny. I'm literally having cake and tea while I respond
And I'm sorry that diversity of opinion is so odious to you, but seriously? It really is starting to become a groupthink environment here.

It's ironic that you would accuse me of being one to "eat cake" a la Marie Antoinette, when I'm supporting the fact that the President wouldn't simply cut off UI benefits or raise middle class taxes to take a stand on the upper tax cuts.

Perhaps you would've sat back and enjoyed that joust with your own tea and cake in a cloak of Progressive self-righteousness while millions of Americans struggled in the face of the decision to "stand on principle"?

2. John Bohner should be taking YOUR WORD!!!!
Why in the frickin frack are we operating from a position of weakness?

You ARE the President of the United States, are you not????

Jesus, can anyone be more pathetic???

So sick of this mealy-mouthed, tweedle-dumb bullshit act that Obama and some
of the Democrats play.

4. He knows Boner is not going to negotiate and operate out of good faith.
I see no problem with him saying this. Gives him a reason to call Boner out when Boner double crosses.
