3. It made me less intolerant of Christians, to a point.

Not all Christians are right wing assholes. Growing up, I had thought pretty much all Christians were right wing assholes who got off on beating kids (Christian school) and harassing women(again, Christian school).

DU taught me that there are nice Christians who do not hate or believe in beating kids to within an inch of their lives, do not believe in locking out in the yard and making them sleep in dog houses on a 32 degree night as "punishment" and do not believe gay people are horrible people. So, now I know, there are Christians out there who are good, nice, loving people. Before DU, I honestly did not know any who were not bible belt right wing jerks.

So, I'd say, yeah, it has changed my perspective in lots of ways, but that is the most profound way. I now no longer hate all Christians like I used to. I realize not all of any group are bad. It was through DU that I was able to meet people who were of a different mind than what I was used to locally. That has helped tremendously in real life and on DU.

I know it's something most people wouldn't find all that ground breaking or anything, but to me, it's a real improvement.
