9. In technical economic terms (i.e., a recession is two successive quarters of negative growth), |

we are not in a recession. The nation's GDP has shown (very slight) positive growth each quarter since Q2 2009. However, obviously people are still hurting and so they still recognize it as a "recession" in those terms - that we'd all like to see more job growth, ends to wage freezes and furloughs, etc. That things are still far from normal.
