If it's any consolation... the Freepers think the tax cut deal sold THEM out

Here is the thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2638411/posts

Some of them defended the Republicans. Most seem to think the GOP gave away too much.

Sample comments:

Very bad deal. 13 more months of unemployment is an awful lot. And a TWO YEAR extension means that it will come up for renewal again DURING OBAMA’s TIME IN OFFICE.

In fact, it will come up for renewal in the lame duck session of 2012, so if Obama has been replaced by a conservative Republican, he will still be able to veto a further extension. And he will not be around to suffer the consequences.

I didn’t think the Republican leadership was this dumb.

-----

My sister is one of those chronically unemployed. Had a baby 2 years ago and hasnt worked a day since. There is not a darn thing wrong with her just easier to stay home with her child. She is not looking for a job by any means but continues to collect unemployment.

-----

hold on 13 more months of unemployment benefits in addition to the already 99 weeks in effect. If I got this wrong no one scream at me that I did not read everything there. This is nuts, where is the incentive to work - sit at home and collect unemployelfare (unemployment and welfare) - $310 a week and just eat bon-bons. that is more than a person gets on social security disability, which is one payment a month that a person paid into for quite a few years. Unemployment does not include health insurance. But a person can apply for medical assistance and food stamps. More people on the government rolls. America is becoming like the former Eastern bloc countries paid to stay at home. Soon China and russia employees will surpass the Americans.

-----

How long do you think this nation can carry the weight of those collecting, ripping off the government and living off the increasing minority of those of us who are employed ?

-----

NO DEALS! It’s cheaper not to extend the taxes. The GOP is dead.

-----

What's up with this two year temporary crap?!
All of Bush's tax cuts should have been made permanent.

None of the unemployment benefits should have been extended.

I damn well hope all Conservatives remember this Republican sellout.

Does someone want to start a 2010-2011 RINO list?

-----

Yeah, my sister is happily unemployed so she can stay home and shop for furnishings for her new house and supervise the
work on her new patio, all while watching the “free” money roll in.

She was hoping for an extension. Looks like she got her wish.

Imagine having a baby and collecting unemployment for 2 years..? Wow what a great deal.

-----

This round certainly seems to go to Obama. The GOP took it in the backside once again as they seem to like doing from the progressives. It would certainly appear that they just didn’t get the message the Tea Party sent them this last election. Time to continue thinning the ranks of the sickly stinking RINO’s and nauseating blue-bloods with McConnell leading that sickly pack!

1. Repukes just voted to swell the deficit.
I'm all for 13 more months of unemployment, but it needs to be PAID FOR. Preferably by those making over 250k a year.

5. I think the point is...
that perspective and point of view can affect the way people see things, and that two groups with completely different ideologies can agree on something, but for different reasons.

Which I suppose isn't interesting unless people find that sort of thing interesting...

PS...I'm sure Freepers think the majority of DUers are idiots in return...

7. Do you CARE what freepers think of you? You seem to want to be "fair" to these cretins.
Understand that they would gut you in a heartbeat if it advanced their cause one whit. They are due zero consideration and zero respect.

6. The Tea Party Republicans are in shock, too.
They are talking of primarying some of the Republicans that let this huge debacle get agreed to.
