I'm not sure the President's tax compromise is going to prevail in the legislature |
|
. . . at least not in its present form.
That's the rub I see, really. If the Senate unravels it and the House does the same, those bills might not be reconcilable.
If he can't get 218 in the House, it'll have to be changed to get those votes. The entire compromise could be fumbled in all of the shaping and fall.

Perhaps there will be lessons to learn.
Meanwhile, the Unemployed will just have to do for Christmas. Oh well.....small sacrifice!

8. I thought the health care bill was finished |
|
. . . but legislators found a way.
I think you're right about learning something. We should see the potential or the limits of Democratic legislators' will or ability.

The Republicans have proven time and time again they can remain heartless longer than the unemployed can remain solvent.

9. That's going to be sweet. It's totally worth it to burn everyone so that we can wait for less or |
|
nothing at all. The most pure of the left have got quite the strategy here.

People are living in their fucking cars if they have one. In Fort Lauderdale you can't go from one point to another without encountering a homeless person. This is ridiculoius. This whole "we have to burn the village to save it" is the fantasy of teen agers.

Rather than pass this mockery of a "deal".
