"Pelosi strongly defended the Democratic proposals in Obama’s compromise"
As she did in a written statement earlier Tuesday, Pelosi strongly defended the Democratic proposals in Obama’s compromise and denounced the GOP-favored provisions, principally a temporary extension of tax cuts for high earners.

“On the Democratic side, you have stimulus, you have job creation, you have growth for the economy,” Pelosi said. “On the Republican side, you have no creation of jobs and an increase in the deficit. So we have some unease with the proposal.”

To show Pelosi's reaction more fully than the misleading headline and story would have you believe.

3. She's the one who preemptively declared that Bush would not be investigated/impeached
I wouldn't get carried away with admiration for her just because most of the others are worse.

11. What "debate"? I see no debate.
Edited on Tue Dec-07-10 09:49 PM by bemildred
I see name calling and innuendos, but nothing resembling an argument.

What part of this is name calling?

"She's the one who preemptively declared that Bush would not be investigated/impeached

I wouldn't get carried away with admiration for her just because most of the others are worse."

For that matter, what part is innuendo?

13. Okay, so are you having a bad day (reasonable)
or are you like this all the time? Because, really, you've handed out a litany of content free posts here. Sound and fury, signifying nothing.

14. I didn't start with the insults.
I said Pelosi for President and the response was an insinuation that I was ignorant, as in "you disagree with me so you must be ignorant", and an insinuation that I must like her because "the others are worse". Both are incorrect. No questions were forthcoming so as to better understand my position. No "content" was forthcoming so that I might respond in kind. Just insults. You don't like it, don't dish it out.

16. Much better
I get the context now. It just seemed like you were being childish, and I'm not saying there hasn't been a bit of that, but I didn't really notice the first volley. Sorry, my bad.

I'm a bit pissy today. I think most of us are. This hasn't been a good day for our side.

I, for one, only like Democratic Socialists today. We only have one in evidence, so I'm feeling very marginalized.

22. In addition to the estate tax provision, please axe the payroll tax holiday.
This will undermine and weaken Social Security making it easier to dismantle and privatize.
