Richard Trumka, President of the AFL-CIO. He might not be interested. But he is already a good leader who fights for people.

when I hear his name in the news.

I just think the president put the highest priority on extending unemployment benefits, while most of us were trying to draw a line on the wealthy tax cuts. Note that Keith has no viable candidates to even mention.

11. Extending the tax cuts means no new jobs stimulus. And the UE extension will only |
|
apply to one third of the unemployed.
Two thirds of the unemployed get nothing from this deal.

21. Like KO said this evening, the President would have gotten the |
|
extension on UE benefits regardless because the repukes don't want to be saddled with unkindness reflected in the voting booth for not voting for the extension(s).....he (KO) said even boner agreed earlier to this.

3. Probably his best Special Comment |
|
certainly very strongly worded for a network tv show host. And spot on. Keith did a great job of expressing how so many of us are feeling right now.

5. Honestly, I think we need a new system. |
|
With Citizens United (gawd what a joke name) I don't see much hope for a new President or Congress to make any real change for the better. Not for the working and the poor anyway.

7. Yes, it's time to start that process |
|
Less than two years to go until the next Presidential election. It's way time to start gathering names for this. We will need to mobilize for the primaries to get out the vote.
If it gets to the point where we have no other choice between a repuke and Obama, we'll have essentially neutered ourselves. (by ourselves, I mean those of us who left the Obama building - probably for good)

dipshit idea (if true).
So now, I presume, he'll spend his time railing against our Democratic president? Maybe he should have just gone to FOX.

Yes, he can rail against him all he wants. Nice false equivalency though.

25. Kick, too late to Rec |
|
but I'll Rec it here anyway. Getting the wheels in motion for a primary challenge is exactly what we need to do. At the very least, we'll drive Obama back to the left a little.
But I don't see how I could ever support him unless he cleans out his corporate advisers and cabinet and replaces them with servants of the people.
We need some kind of Open Source campaign, where we all work on the platform, and all of the funding sources are revealed. We should also give the presidential project some authority when it comes to selecting staff and cabinet. Time for a distributed, organic, public, open approach.
