My Special Comment On The Deficit
Let me preface my remarks by saying that we need to be wise stewards of our nation's money and resources. However , imho, this fetishization of the deficit is just a ploy to whip folks who rely on the safety net into shape.

Does the government ever have any trouble to find several hundred billion dollars here or there to invade this or that sovereign nation or maintain an empire.

The invasion of Iraq cost over one trillion dollars. If I was rich I would complain about the government wasting my money on that. At least by strengthening the safety net I wouldn't have to step over starving people on my way to work.

2. You don't have the proper mentality to be a rich person
If you did, you'd realize that invading countries makes you feel powerful and strong and important, and that stepping over homeless people makes you feel superior. Nah, you don't have what it takes, sorry.

8. I would too. But I bet we wouldn't be millionaires for too long.
That's the thing about most of the wealthy, they are incredibly stingy.

4. Who will the republican blame to use to cut what programs
900 billion dollar deficit tax cut for the rich the republicans demanded.

Will the republicans be taking the blame month's from now for another trillion dollar increase in the deficit or will the republicans again blame the democrats as they did when Bush added six trillion dollars to the deficit while in office?

Who will the republicans blame for this deficit raising, no job producing tax cuts for the wealthiest 2% when another trillion dollars will be added to the deficit - Will republican who never accept blame & always point fingers take any blame for the deficit?

And what programs will the republicans want to cut & privatize when the republicans start pointing fingers at the high deficit (not the six trillion that Bush added to the deficit or his wars that are still adding to the deficit). Who will you republicans blame, what will the cut, Social Security people paid 40 or 50 years into? Medicare? Education?

Who will the republican blame to use to cut what programs?

The rich are doing fantastically great - Still the republicans fought to give them even hundreds of billions of dollars more.

The republicans will start blaming social programs as the problem, not the wars for corporate profit, nor for the massive military budget, not their tax cuts for the rich, or unpaid deals with pharmaceutical corporations, the incredibly rich insurance corporations, or the government subsidies for oil corporations - No the republicans will blame peoples social programs that's what they will cut!

9. they are wasting our money in ways that are wrecking America
I don't know what else to say. Fight their fiscal madness at the Governor level, and at the Mayoral level. That's all I can think of now.
