college tuition credits, earned income credits, etcetera, according to Ezra Klein?
Also, President Obama repeated these in his presser today and added the small business tax cuts.
These other cuts were Obama tax cuts and stimulus, not the "bush tax cuts" we've been discussing.
Why is President Obama and Ezra Klein lumping in tax cuts that weren't part of the extensions we've beem discussing? Is this supposed to make the benefits to the middle class of these tax cut extension look better, or what?
ETA: Statiscal has answered this post to my satisfaction. Thank you, Statistical. I concede that I had overlooked the 2003 cuts.

2. These are the goodies Obama put in the stimulus so that he could get, what was it? |
|
Oh, yeah, three Republican votes in the entire Congress. In fact that stimulus bill was larded with these sort of tax cut and tax credit goodies, all to get three 'Pug votes. In fact almost forty percent of the stimulus consisted of those least effective forms of economic stimuli, tax cuts and tax credits. Eliminating things like sixteen billion dollars to repair and build schools, all for three 'Pug votes.
Obama was a bad fighter then, he's a worse one now.

3. All of those except payroll tax reduction (which is new bill) were part of the 2001/2003 tax cuts. |

The child tax credit went from $600 to $1000. The marriage penalty was eliminated on those making less than $150K taxable. The lifetime learning credit (college tuition) was expanded. The EIC rules were changed to allow "higher" income families to qualify.
"These other cuts were Obama tax cuts and stimulus, not the "bush tax cuts" we've been discussing. " Not true. None of those were "Obama tax cuts" or "Stimulus".
Obama has signed a single tax cut so far. It is the making work pay credit. $400 per person for 2009. It was renewed in 2010. For 2011 there will be the 2% payroll holiday and an extension of Bush tax cuts.

I stand corrected. I did overlook the 2003 cuts.
I'm going to give all this another look. I may need to re-evaluate my position on all this.
