President Obama wants to get things done.
Many folks here want to get things stopped from being done. In fact, it is more important to stop the Bush policies than it is to continue them, even if there are accomplishments along the way.

We have experienced too much as a people over the last 10 years to simply sweep it under the rug. We want it stopped. We want it changed. Then you can get things done.

We cannot ignore the wars, the rendition, the torture, the Constitution, the debt, the lawlessness, the wealth distribution, the lack of jobs, etc. It's nice to put in a solar panel on the roof but it does little good if the house is burning down.

2. He's willing to sell those things
He's made if fairly plain that he will "sell" any of the "signature" issues, to get other, less noticed, issues moved forward. He sold the public option, and bought the mandates, so that he could also get CHC's and cuts to medicaid growth. He sold an escalation in Afghanistan so that he could execute the SOFA in Iraq. He sold Gitmo and torture so that he could get civil trials and his versions of military trials. He's trying to sell DADT so he can get his START treaty right now. He sold tax cuts so he could get a back door stimulus in the unemployed benefits.

He's willing to sell the crown jewels to get more bricks for the castle. Not sure what he's going to sell once all the jewels are gone.

4. Social Security
He's got alot of things left. Clinton sold off welfare reform and DOMA before he was done. Obama has medicare, medicaid, social security, and to some extent he can sell off pieces of HCR as well. He can sell off bits and pieces of the Education department, EPA, OSHA, he was in the process of selling off bits a pieces of drilling rights when something interrupted. The GOP is always after the Clean Water Act and the Endangered Species Act. He already sold them guns in federal forests. He can always sell off pieces of the Brady Act.
