Co-workers of mine that are as apolitical as one can get, are suddenly very interested in Wikileaks and Mr. Assange this week. Asking many, many questions, "why?", "how?", "who?" "diplomatic cables...?".
I'm beginning to think Mr. Assange has set of an alarm, and it's too dramatically entertaining for anyone to hit the snooze button and go back to sleep... yet.
Regardless of what may think about Assange on a personal level, I think the past few days are indicative that there is indeed, as you said, a brand new form of conflict that the entrenched interests are not reacting to very effectively.
I wonder if today's banks, shadow governments and diplomats are feeling the approximate same way that the nobility and the church did just after Guttenburg developed the western printing press.
