Truce?
The past 48 hours or so have been a tumultous time for all of us.

Tempers have flared. Spleens have been vented. Thoughts best scribbled onto paper and then burned in the fireplace have been shouted across cyberspace. And, many of us have directed our anger and frustration sideways---at our friends and allies---rather than straight ahead at those who are the root cause of our pain.

I have been "intemperate" with some folks here. I don't believe I said anything terrible, but some of my remarks were less than kind and for that I apologize.

WE are on the same side. Most of us want the same things for our nation; expect the same things from our leaders.

I'm not real good at this, but what I'm trying to say is that I think we are all better served by finding a way to cooperate.

I will try to cut you some slack. I will undoubtedly need some slack as I continue trying to process this.

Peace?

1. The future of the country is at stake

2. Good idea...
I'd like a truce too. I agree we all want what's best, I have no doubt that *people that I disagree** with also have this country's best interest at heart, just as I do.

I said a few things yesterday that I probably could have said better. For that I apologize.

Thanks for starting this thread.

3. Passions flare on occassion
I was thinking the same thing. I am upset at the direction of our country and have been snarky here as well the past few days. I'm going to cool it with fellow Democrats.

The real enemy in all of this has been a no help right wing Republican party that has paralyzed Washington to suck up to their corporate masters while screwing people over left and right.

10. sure, i can.
I'm saying that a truce sounds nice. Peace sounds wonderful. Realistically though, here at DU I see no peace in the near future. Believe me when I say I really understand what you're advocating for.

I just don't see any hope for what you ask.
I extended my original reply to pretty much cover everything beyond the realm of DU as well.

Hope that helps.
