got a call yesterday from somebody (with a most definite accent) purporting to be from microsoft, informing me that microsoft international (whatever the hell that is) had noticed that my computer is downloading malicious content and bugs. all the funnier since I haven't even been online the last few days.
was laughing as I hung up on him. honestly, are people supposed to buy this nonsense? my guess is that the next step was to persuade me to buy some super new security system, and give all my information over the phone. yeah, that would happen.
has anybody else had a call like this??
