5. If you are watching CSPAN 2, Reid said the other side will not agree to do anything until tax cuts |
|
...etc.? is done? then he moved to table, does this mean nothing is going to pass or be done until the BUsh Tax cuts are extended? No DADT vote either? is everything over then?
Is this the lame duck of the lame duck session?

12. Republican Senators all signed a letter saying exactly that |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-09-10 12:08 PM by Bandit
Every single Republican in the Senate signed a letter to Obama saying they would block all legislation unless all Bush* tax cuts were extended..As if they haven't been blocking all legislation since 2007 when they lost the Senate. Republicans have established a permanent filibuster with the goal of making our President into a failure and stopping all Democratic legislation.. It is all Commie, Socialistic, Nazi, Terroristic, stuff any "real American" should oppose anyway..

10. Um...not to contradict you, but I was reading that they tabled THEIR version of the Dream Act |
|
Apparently, they're going to vote on the House version. From what I read.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks.

14. You're correct. I think you and I (and Will) might be the only ones who listened. So what's new. |

17. Harry Reid did not want to drop the Senate version |
|
he was forced to. Next week they are supposed to take up the House version, but it's likely that the exact same thing will occur.

18. Probably. It's all about the tax cuts. |
|
It looks like the Republicans are carrying out their threat not to pass anything until the Bush tax cuts are passed.
Which means it looks shitty for DADT repeal as well. Unless Lieberman can pull the proverbial rabbit out of his hat.

16. Interesting. why would the military NOT want all that cannon fodder? |
|
"In fact, passage of the DREAM Act is one of the Department of Defense's official goals for helping to maintain “a mission-ready, all-volunteer force.” ( wiki)
What is the reason for tabling it? anti-immigration issues? cost issues? anyone know?

20. Now, all three are dead: DADT Repeal, Dream Act, and New START. Who really controls the Senate? |
|
Certainly not Democrats. Well, all republicans signed a letter to stop all these things.
