Source: Grand jury looking into handling of doctor’s case

<snip>A grand jury is investigating whether Bianchi improperly dismissed a misdemeanor charge against a Crystal Lake doctor, according to a source familiar with the case.

The accusations come on top of charges alleging that Bianchi misused his taxpayer-funded office for political activities. Bianchi was indicted on those charges in September and specifically was accused of unlawful communication with a witness, conspiracy, and 19 counts of official misconduct.

The latest allegations are related to a decision by the McHenry County State’s Attorney Office to dismiss a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct filed by Crystal Lake Police against Tom Salvi, a 47-year-old doctor with Fox Valley Internal Medicine in Crystal Lake. snip

Salvi, a Republican, comes from a family with a background in politics. He is the brother of current McHenry County Board member Barbara Wheeler and former state Rep. Al Salvi, a Republican who failed in 1996 to win a bid for U.S. Senate.

1. Because It's Okay If You're a Republican....
Why waste all the taxpayers' money on discovering that? We at DU discerned that years ago.
