They are very unwilling to help the usa citizens whether in new orleans, or the low wage earners, or jobs for the middle class. They're simply giving into the simplest wants of man: power, wealth, control.
And they've realized that all it takes is simply to do what the other guy won't, to not play by the rules, to lie, cheat and steal with impunity. Religion, patriotism, etc. are just means to an end.
