What if they gave an exemption from Federal excise taxes to those who purchase a hybrid car? It should make the thugs happy, since it's reducing taxes, and conservationists should be happy because it will reduce carbon emissions, and everybody should be happy because it will reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

when you can get a suv and write it off on your taxes,I know its sad=(
I think there is one for hybrids already but its only like 6k if i am not mistaken i would like to see this expanded as well and get rid of the suv tax write off.

2. I didn't know about the SUV thing, but

yeah, we need to get rid of that. And maybe increase the excise tax on any vehicle that gets less than 40 mpg.

and the suv thing is if you claim it as a company car,my neighbor puts a magnet on the side of his and he wrote the whole thing off.
