Name one mainstream media pundit who talked about: Impeachment, torture, gay rights, gonzogate.....,
...besides Rosie O'Donnell.

Say what you will about her. She brought the issues out. The subject line, having a length limit, would not allow me to list the many, many other subjects we all wish the mainstream media would focus on.

It think CNN ran about 4 minutes total of the Alberto Gonzales testimony. The only other one on TV that I can think of who actually talks about the high crimes of the Bush administration is Bill Maher, and he's on HBO, which most people don't get.

And now, that lying, good for nothing, brainwashed, Republican talking point shill Elisabeth Hasselbeck is given free reign.

Sad.

1. The Corporate Media doesn't discuss those things. They talk about
Natalee, Paris, Britney, and Anna Nicole.

Shhhhh...don't wake the babies. Back to sleep, sheeple, back to sleep....

3. wingnuts so smart
They declare something to be true, and it becomes so because they do things along the same lines as sale signs in Wal-mart. There is no longer an appetite for profundity or meaningful discussion here, if there ever was. You are either terrified or you are not. It is too easy to be led, fat and happy, and leave the real decisions to others. Of course, the ruling class, for lack of a better term, appreciate this and continue to perpetuate the sheep mentality.

Look at what our culture values. We have TV shows that discuss fantasy sports leagues, we watch our fellow citizens be degraded on TV and revel in their short-comings. Sure there are many, many wonderful aspects to Americana but we are at a point where we have been willingly led to believe that as long as our plasma TV works, and we can get a 4th meal from taco bell that all is well in Hoosville.

Dare your neighbor to contemplate an aspect of their life and you will be greeting with blank stares. Ask them what if a flat tax would raise or lower their tax liability, and then ask for computations to back it up and you will get blank stares. Ask them if they love America and American workers, and then ask how often they make sure to buy American products and foodstuffs.

We are a lazy, stupid and self-serving public, and if your outrage ends at your keyboard then you are no better.

Sorry for being so chastising on my first day, but I love this country and am absolutely aghast as to how complacent we have become. We, the ultimate rebels.

Cheers, all, be safe.

4. Jon Stewart? Keith Olberman? Numerous editorial writers?
I'd suggest Amy Goodman, too, but I guess she's still a bit off the beaten track...

But you're right about Rosie, we lose a relatively rare network TV ally with her departure.

5. Rosie gone is a good thing...
She was good at telling some of us what we already knew, but she was horrible at opening other people's eyes. She was a distraction. You can't attack the hot stupid blond in our current context and expect to win over the American public. Rams want to do her, and so sympathize. Does want to be her, and so sympathize. Sheep, all.

If you want to change opinion do it in a way that makes people feel like trophies for agreeing with you, as opposed to feeling like hillbillies for not.

Cheers!

6. She was only a distraction because the media mania used it's power
to malign her message, she will be missed but I hope she gets on another show.

8. Ewww - what reasonably intelligent woman would want to be her?
My husband thinks I'm gorgeous AND I have a brain.

I don't want to be her.
