$100 Billion on the war? No problem. $4 billion on food stamps? Can't afford that! |

It's good to know they've got their priorities straight. http://www.newsobserver.com/politics/story/574927.html

1. When does the new minimum wage kick in? |
|
Hopefully the corporate world will kick in for some of that shortfall, and at least some of the working poor can be lifted out of their decades-long screw-job.
Now we need to get all the war profiteers to pay for their own goddamn war. It's nice to know there's that kind of money available for something. Maybe that can help push a single-payer healthcare plan.
Either way, it's completely fucked up as it stands.

4. You mean there's a --- TIMETABLE -- attached to it?! |
|
I don't see how we can fight the war on poverty on an artificial timetable. We need the money NOW.

2. But the rich need so much more |
|
they are the 'betters' you know, and the rest of us are so much sludge, to be used when useful, then thrown away to be forgotten and starved. This is the Gilded Age mentality that the neocons are so nostalgic about. Trouble is, at least those robber barons for the most part earned their money, however ruthlessly, while today's wealthy are often the decayed spawn of old money--Bush being a case in point.
