|
according to the article. I find these two paragraphs from the article quite telling--apparently the rest of the world knows who to blame for this war:
t is so sad indeed.. few years ago the US was a friendly country, now, it is the most hated all over the world due to its stupid administration. I feel sorry for America indeed..!!
I urge the US army to do as that brave man U.S. Army 1st Lieutenant Ehren K. Watada who stepped forward as the first commissioned officer to publicly refuse deployment to the Iraq War and occupation. He faces court martial and up to 6 years imprisonment for refusing to deploy and for speaking out against a war that he believes is illegal.

This is why we should not torture. We have no right to get outraged when this happens to our troops. The only people that we can rage against are the people that legalized torture (rummy, dick, gonzo).

did not add any kind of date to when, and from who...he received these images...leaving it impossible to know. Also makes me wonder what kind of uniforms private contractors where? By the way, that article you posted the other day about the supplies not getting through is stuck in the front of my brain.

48. Well I'm not calling shenanigans but there is a problem or two with |
|
this memo......
the letterhead is wrong, the embassy has a particular letterhead even for a memo.......
the eagle? What the hell is that, I have never seen a DOD, or DOS memo with an eagle like that on it. Can someone find other memo's with that eagle at the top?
the date format, event he DOS uses the DOD date format in country. The format is ddmmmyy example: 22Jul03, I find it hard to believe the memo is real with that format on it.
Finally the memo talks about food delays from convoys??? If convoys were being interdicted then icasualties would see a lot more US deaths from areas where the majority of food comes into country.........Up north.
A vast majority of our food stuffs in Iraq come through the Zakho gate in Northern Iraq and straight down the MSR into Mosul, bayji, Tikrit and Baghdad. Icasualties shows no such uptick in casualties in the main food supply corridor, nor the secondary food supply corridors out of Kuwait or the Jordanian border. In fact most casualties at icasualties are occuring in Baghdad, Diyala (on the Iranian border) and in Babil (south of Baghdad).......There are many routes around Babil and diyala would play no part in a food supply mission..........
I'm not going to say the memo is fake, but there are some severe problems with it, as well as its message........I haven't heard anything from friends in Iraq, and I'm pretty sure some soldier home on leave would have talked about this already........
I'll email some buddies and ask some questions, but it is hard to believe given the way food is actually moved around in Iraq......

46. sanskritwarrior, I know what this DUer is talking about. It was a story that |
|
came out this week...probably in the last couple of days about how the Marines were not getting a lot of the supplies they were requesting. Here's a thread about it on DU, but I saw it on Yahoo news. < http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=966927>

War is hell. Perhaps if more people realized that before 2003, it wouldn't have had so much support. Americans seem to have this idea that the world resembles a Schwarzenegger movie or an episode of "24".

The Seoul Times is nearly a year late with this information.

Holding two separate opinions on two completely separate topics is something I have no problem with.
Not sure why you are dragging the other topic into a completely different thread except to be needlessly provocative.
Objecting to using pictures such as this for petty misguided reasons has nothing to do with thinking that kucinich's platform of having a department of peace is extremely silly and easily mocked on large scale.

If people wish to support war, they must be made aware of the true brutality war can bring to us all. Maybe if people understood war the same way Europeans now understand war, so many would not have bought into Bush's lies.

So from now on, we'll be placing this at your doorstep as well as Bush's.
Let us know when you're ready to get serious about ending this mess. In the meantime, we'll be looking for your replacements.
