C-Span is repeating the Goodling Hearing and on re-watch I have different opinion
Edited on Sat May-26-07 11:29 AM by KoKo01
than watching the "stream" on Wednesday where I was very disappointed with the committee seeming to be ill-prepared and Conyers seeming kind of dotty in his handling of it...forgetting the times and leaving in the middle.

What I realize on re-watch, is that the Congresspersons there had to listen to this child with that weird voice for HOURS...showing her inexperience and cluelessness about her position. I find watching her so mind blowing in that she was in charge of people old enough to be her mother or father!

Bush has consistently put kids with no experience in charge of every part of our government. While having young people serve is a good thing...not when they are RUNNING the GOVT. and in charge of career personnel.

She reminds me of the Kids from Heritage Foundation sent to Iraq to set up a "Stock Market" and manage billions in funds due to Hardball Pundit Repug Op, Kate O'Beirn and her husband's (who serves in Bush Administration)influence.

These Congresspersons must be so disgusted and Conyers probably had to turn his mind off to deal with Goodling. He might have felt like punching the wall in anger and had to control himself making him appear kind of dotty...:grr:

If Artur Davis is asking mizmonica questions.. Turn up the volume so any lurking doubters in your house can hear it!

Appointing this kid to this position was the same MO as sending those clueless junior ideologues to Iraq right after the fall of Baghdad to try and set up their "pure free market" experiment...

3. the young, naive, ambitious, and clueless are easier to manipulate
and then throw under buses in case actual oversight should occur. Young, idealist, NAIVE zealots are the fuel bushco runs on.

Been sayin' all along, bushco policies are designed to make us older/wiser geezers die off faster so there will be no village elders to impart life experience to the young adults coming up. So much easier to control masses with no long view perspective, no time to observe cycles which rip the veneer off the criminals who proclaim themselves patriots and leaders.

And the committee had to let the fish play out the line a bit... It is how one shows true prowess. Let the fish grab and swim, thinking it has managed an escape. ;)

4. Well Said! Let the fish play out the line a bit....
It's clearer on re-watch that there WAS a strategy. The Village Elders....:D

5. Wow. You're right! They don't recruit qualified people.
They recruit "young, idealist, NAIVE zealots" that they can manipulate.

7. or Jim Jones, or David Koresh...
of course those two managed to recruit adults too, but then, bushco has sucked in some over-40 types - so the analogy holds

9. Spot on!
Naive zealots one and all. Problem is when these folks get thrown under the bus their
loyalty is so strong that they get up and apologize to the bus for being in the way.
I guess loyal zealots kinda negate having any pesky whistle blowers.

8. I didn't realize how clever the Dems were in the first view when the Repugs tried to
disrupt and stall calling for a Vote and making folks wait until the House Clerk and other members of the committee could be found...which took quite a bit of time.

But...Conyers did a recess later and made Monica cool her heels and have to come back late in the afternoon. There was some criticism on some of the blogs that Conyers recess allowed her to confer longer with her lawyer but watching this again, I think the Dems got back at the Repugs for them disrupting and making it seem a circus. Artur Davis was getting to Monica and the Repugs want the focus to shift to disrupting the testimony and the Dems interviewing.

10. Second Impression: Cute puppy wags dhole damn red dog kennel, so scripted
and thoroughly practiced when the Rs were questioning. Show of contrasts, for sure.

And the thing about such a careful script is --- reading between the lines is soooo-ooo easy! I blogged the re-watch yesterday here:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x970158

A major cover-up focus was Carol Lam and Medicare Fraud. They really went out of their way to spin Carol Lam's firing as a "Coyote" problem. Issa was trying to save his own fur on that one, since one of his scandals is planting the false immigration story in the first place.

What a complicitous lot, the dhole red dog kennel, foxes in love with the hen. This was so Hollywood, a la the tail wagging the dog.

Another point. The Dems did not know what to expect. Unlike many hearings, --FOR THE DEMS ONLY IN THIS CASE-- the witness was not pre-interviewed and the testimony not prepped.

11. Thanks for Link to Yesterday Live Blog...Good Links in that to Articles, too!
I missed the Live Blog here and also some of the articles (like Eugene Robinson's comments) about this. I was over at Marcy's site trying to see what she was saying.

I'll give yesterdays post a kick because of the info...and that others might have missed it.
