2. Know Why Programs Like That Always Perplex Me?

It means someone had to bring up at some meeting the concept of "hey, ya know what guys? We should do a half hour program dedicated to our humvee!". And then others had to ponder for a moment and then all concur with "That's a GREAT idea bob! Make it happen!".

That's what drives me nuts about stuff like that. Not only does some dumbass have to pitch the idea to begin with, but a bunch of people gotta actually sign off on it thinkin it's some wonderful idea too.

I was just passin' through when I saw a "reporter" hawking the Hummer. Then she "interviewed" some little kids who were herded over to the Hummer. She babbled some questions at the kids and they babbled back until she stuck the microphone in the face of the oldest kid. He started talking about how people should be conserving gas and buying smaller cars not big cars (pointing at the Hummer) like this.

It was a great moment.

27. It's where I shop for books, actually. Whoever organizes it

has an impossible job of trying to find interesting reads among the mountains of stuff that are published, and in mo, they do a good job.

Sometimes it gets sort of freeperish but one can avoid the RW cR@P fake books paid for by the Heritage Foundation and their ilk with the schedule Viva posts every Friday. (Thank you, Viva!)

For a word freak like me, the net is the very best thing since elastic or sugar-free ice cream. :)
