Poll question: Will we attack Iran?
Edited on Tue May-29-07 11:12 AM by NightWatcher
We hear that the Dick people are at odds with the George people over an attack against Iran. Who will win?

Every few weeks I change my mind. Sometimes I think that we'll hit them within the week and other times I think that there is no way that we could get away with it.

What do you think. Will we hit them and will it be with nukes?

What do you think will happen in the next year and a half?

1. They've been drooling over the prospect of a nuke attack for years
Everything they say and do leads me to believe they fully intend to use baby nukes in Iran.

They are absolutely insane enough to do it. They are completely out of control, and now that the Dems have enabled them, there's nothing left to stop them.

2. we will attack, as to whether we use active nukes or just bombs with DU
I think they would use so-called "tactical" nukes if they thought they could get away with it.

3. The Neocon momentum has died down, no one is enlisting en masse, and there is no money for it
Probably not going to happen. Even Iran isn't that stupid to do anything serious other than the usual human rights abuses. Just a bunch of sabre rattling from both sides. Neither could afford it.

4. Most of the world hates 'US'; should we try for 110%?
If we do attack, we will be the losers. And you think oil and gasoline prices are high now?

5. I Think Iran is Safe for Now

Reasons: Cheney won't get his way, Bush wants to keep Condi sweet for the benefits, and nobody, not even Blair, is saying it's a good idea, go ahead.

On the other hand, that was quite a wad of cash our fearless Reps and Senators handed over: far more than is needed for Iraq and Afghanistan combined, I'm betting. Unless Halliburton is due for another infusion of funds...when it comes to decision-making, greed wins every time with this bunch. Can't see them making instant billions off attacking Iran--they don't have time for it. Maybe part of that dough is a golden parachute for highest level Bushbots?

6. The last thing the American public once is another war
There's an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says: "Fool me once... shame on... shame on you... If fooled, you can't get fooled again."

7. The question isn't really "Will we", but "When will we"
It may be the end of August, it may be in twenty-five years. The way things are going, I'm keeping my ear to the ground for kidnapped U.S. soldiers to be directly tied to Iranian special forces and Bush to retaliate based on it being "an act of war against America" or "an attack on America". Lately, he's been using the terms "attacking America/Americans" as being synonous with our troops on the battlefield in Iraq. He's not being specific, nor is he saying "our interests"...just America/Americans. To hear Bush, any attack in Iraq is an attack on America.

When does the State of Iraq get a star on the flag?
