Everyone is entitled to their opinion. heck I have about three on everything. I suspect that most people here are the same way . But the nature of DU is that everyone tends to dig in and lob grenades and it amount to nothing more than ineffective trench warfare. It is difficult to gauge overall opinion on Sheehan because the threads are dominated by the ardent supporters and detractors. I am interested in what the larger DU community thinks.

But if you notice the poll is running 40/60 and while I have been flamed this has not caused yet another flame war about Cindy.

I have been posting here for a long time and I got to tell you, I haven't heard much in the past about women being 'described' as whores....or being beaten publicly with baseball bats. Was Silwa being an 'attention whore'. Sure...

But you want to know something -- that term has become 'very' topical twice lately in political forums. Does anyone remember a couple of months ago. Don 'Nappy-Head' Imus? Remember the term 'ho'

You know in my travels in the Net, I discovered that quite a few of Don's friends over at OTHER forums tend to think that old Don, a racist POS, was chased off the air by Liberals. I suspect someone of them think that DU was the source of the campaign (one of many of course).

Do you think this is all payback?

Can't help but think that since generally in our societies there has been a steady campaign to drive the left, progressive movement underground so it doesn't ACTUALLY get any attention, I am thinking it's part of that general campaign?

(Whore = usually implies a transfer of money or a favour, ergo one might call journalists media whores because they accept money for their services...her protest cost a lot of money apparently...so even on that sickening level of 'political debate', the term doesn't make sense when applied to her)
