A Sampling of Todays News on CNN: TB, TB, TB

I've been working from home today (a rare treat) - and periodically walking to the TV to check the news on CNN. Here is what I have seen each of three times:

1) OMG, there could be a huge outbreak of Tuberculosis
2) Tuberculosis, omg, you are going to die.
3) A Tuberculosis expert talking about TB, omg.

Of course the CDC gave a balanced news conference saying they were acting in an abundance of caution, and CNN is acting like the sky is falling.

Why can't they do this for Global Warming?

The assualt on reason continues.

2. And why play up TB?

To further demonize illegal immigrants. And why demonize them? To shore up RealID(internal passport) and their DHS job certification program.

It's not about illegals, really. It's about total control of the population and cutting a large number of citizens out of the workforce, to ease salary pressure on corporations. Culling the herd.

Oh yeah, and a mom hung her kids and then herself.

5. Unfortunately it is somewhat true

there is a new anti-biotic strain of tb turning up in the US, this has been going on for 10 years or more. As I have said I work in medical and have seen it but NOT among Latino immigrants, more among Russian and Asian immigrants, it goes double if they spent an amount of time in refugee camps or in the case of Russians children who were in orphanages but that is not a surprise or a reason for discrimination.

6. This is OLD news. Anyone who did any work with homeless folks...

...heard about the rise of TB and the new antibiotic-resistant strains back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, when they first started hitting American cities.

In the homeless shelters, of course, which is why the media didn't give a crap back then. They had plenty of other material to work with in crafting the rise of the corporate hegemony.

Now that they're faced with the slightly-more-difficult task of maintaining and advancing the hegemony, the fear comes in handy. Dust off them TB stories and put 'em on prime time!

7. Health care system unraveling

The lack of health care for so many Americans means many of these problems we once thought were under control (like TB) are re-emerging as problems.

We're becoming more and more like a third world country every day.
