Libby Defense Fund Member: "Fitzgerald Kicking Libby While He's Down"
Libby defense fund member attacks Fitzgerald.

One of Scooter Libby’s “most ardent defenders, Richard Carlson, a former chief of the Voice of America who serves as a member of a defense trust set up for Libby,” reacts to Patrick Fitzgerald’s latest filing which again states that Valerie Plame was covert:

I think it’s certainly unseemly that he is kicking him while he’s down. For Fitzgerald, to get on his high horse, it’s disgusting and he should be ashamed of himself.

Richard Carlson is the “bow-tied father of bow-tied television pundit Tucker Carlson” who “sent a courier with a check to Libby’s Virginia home…on the morning of his perjury indictment.”

1. There's some serious problems in that family. And as for kicking Libby
when he's down, that's why he went to trial. And was found guilty. And now it's sentencing time.

Sheesh. I think that there's been some serious inbreeding in some families.

8. I think Tucker's father wanted Fitzgerald to say that he, Fitz, was going to
ask George to pardon him.

4. Richard Carlson: an enabler for a traitor
In the world of Richard Carlson and Barbara Comstock, loyalty to the Bush Crime Family and the Neoconservative Doctrine trumps the law and our national security. Covert CIA operative in the way of Dick "Dick" Cheney's war with Iraq? Fuck her! She's collateral damage.

Make no mistake: Carlson is no patriot. He is an enemy of our constitution, our values and our freedoms.

6. All Carlson is trying to do
is make it look like Libby is being treated unfairly, so the Chimp has a "justification" for the pardon. Well, the recommendation is perfectly appropriate--and probably takes into account what Federal probation thinks is appropriate, given the personal circumstances of the convicted offender.

7. Libby's being treated more fairly than Henry Cisneros...
... or Sandy Berger.
