What do you want to ask Biden?
http://www.charlotte.com/breaking_news/story/297023.html

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden will be in Rock Hill Monday. Do you have a question for him? Let us know and we'll try to ask your question. Call 704-358-5059 or email jmorrill@charlotteobserver.com. Tell us where you live and how we can get a picture of you.

1. What would you ask him?
I'd ask him WHY he's not a proponent of a single-payer non-profit health care plan. I don't understand why so many of the candidates don't even consider it an option. Any input on that?

I'd submit the question via the e-mail but figure I'd be busted trying to pass off a photo of Nicole Kidman as me.

3. How about asking him when he is going to come out with his healthcare plan and include that in there
There was another DUer that was asking me about Biden's healthcare plan. I told her that he didn't have an official one yet.
But you should ask him why he wouldn't consider that. That is a great question Gateley.

I sent a picture of me. omg. I have such a stupid look on my face, but it is the only recent one I have of me. oh well.

Do it!

A single payer system. i think he changed because of the power of the insurance comp's or to deflect criticism.

my question to him would be if he would have bush & cheney arrested on the podium of his inaugural?

2. I sent one.
I hope I am not putting him on the spot, but I am really, really interested to know this.
--------------------------------

First I would like to congratulate you on getting your plan for Iraq passed through the Senate 75-23. You definitely displayed true leadership. If I was there in person, I would give you a standing ovation. (You already have my vote)

Now I have to ask you a version of the question you ask everyone else -
Now what? Nouri Al-Maliki has come out and spoken against it. And today I have read that Hashemi has offered a similar plan to yours to the Iraqis & that there may also be some Shi'ite support. What happens next? Who sits down with the Iraqi leaders to discuss this and to see if they want to adopt it? And do you think they will?
------------
What do you think?

I hope one day that I meet him in person. I would really like to shake his hand.

6. Excellent question
You're really on the ball today.

You know I turned on the radio this afternoon and Randi Rhodes was talking about someone and I just knew it was Biden - all pretty positive and that she'd have no trouble voting for him, etc. Wish I could remember her exact words. Bottom line, she is hoping Gore will get in the race, but she clearly sees Biden as a possibility.

Sorry, got off topic here, but I meant to bring this up earlier and I forgot. My brain's been mushy all day!

7. Wow - I hope you are right that she was talking about Biden.
My brother - who is 9 years older than me - listens to her everyday. He is more to the left than I am. I have been trying to talk him into Biden. He likes him, but not sold. Now if Randi said she liked him - that would carry more weight than his sister would!

So are you going to ask a question?

8. Oh yeah, she was talking about Biden
Sorry, I didn't clarify that. I turned it on in the middle of what she was saying and just thought, that sounds like Biden. Then she did say his name.

I'm thinking. I know I had a particular question, but mush brain here still isn't functioning today. Think I need some sleep.

I need to do something about those gray hairs - but I'll check DU first.
And the next thing I know it's an hour later. ugh!

12. When I saw "Charlotte Observer" I got excited - thought it meant Charlotte, NC
(we have a Rock Hill, too). Then I checked Charlotte and Rock Hill in AZ thinking it might be a local link you'd run across - you've got 'em both, too.

Finally looked on his site and learned it's Charlotte and Rock Hill in SC. (You know, I never had that problem in Seattle - there's only one.)
Should have known because the only three States listed on his site are Iowa, NH and SC.

Anyway, I sent off my question and a goofy recent photo, but I'm guessing they'll be concentrating on questions from SC.

Had I been on top of this, I'd have made plans to go down to see him. He'll be THIS CLOSE!

Dear Future President Biden:

Would you kindly explain WHY you don't feel the single-payer non-profit health care approach is a viable option? It sure sounds good to me, but I trust you to have a reason why it isn't the best solution as many of us believe it might be.

Thanks for the clarification.

Hmmm..good question about contacting you. As I said, I'm kind of feeling the questions will be from South Carolinians.

17. Great question - I am so glad you asked it. I want to hear the answer
I bet they will go through all of the questions and decide what they want to ask.

I just don't want them to show my picture!

16. ALERT - I WAS SO WRONG!
Edited on Sat Sep-29-07 03:07 PM by gateley
I won't go into the embarrassing details of how I discovered my error, but there is NOT a Charlotte SC -- the Charlotte Observer is indeed the Charlotte NC newspaper. I just wanted to clarify that.

This is better because it shows that a NC media outlet is interested in Biden (first I've heard of it), so that's good.

Edit to clarify it's COLUMBIA, SC where he'll be on Monday.
