I am proud of you Biden supporters
You keep receiving compliments on how you present yourselves and engage other campaign's supporters

You're getting a reputation as the most polite supporters of the bunch :bounce:

Keep it up :7

I'm sure you've seen some posts that have said people may turn away from a candidate b/c of the actions of their supporters - that's a perfect reason to keep being positive about Biden while not being negative about other campaigns.

What a great group of people. :hi:

1. Back at ya, honey -- tenfold! I witnessed an exchange on a thread last night
and it went a little something like this:

Pirhana: There's a big difference what certain people will say---- never mind

Poster to Pirhana: 7. Dude, I'm on Biden's side on this.

Pirhana: I wasn't referring to you as the person who would say anything. Don't make me say it.

Poster: Say it... :)

Pirhana: nope - Bidenites try real hard to be nice.

My knee-jerk reaction was to jump in and say Well I'm not that nice, I'll tell you who Pirhana's referring to..."

But I realized she's right. It's not our MO. We aren't out there attacking and name calling and we aren't trying to shove Biden down anyone's throat.

Her sterling example served to rein me in! I've always looked to her and tesgat for leadership and they've set the tone on, I guess the Bidenite approach. They -- and others of you -- are far better spokespeople than I, but I feel we do seem to be of one philosophy when it comes to our conversations with other DUers.

I'm grateful to you all -- and proud to be a Bidenite!!

Thanks again, Debi!

2. Thank you so much
I think a candidate's supporters serve as representatives in a way and people will often judge the candidate by the behavior of the supporters. It may no always be justified and it isn't always conscious, but it does seem to be true.

When people start "yelling" or dissing another candidate, I can't help but notice who they are supporting. I try not to let it influence me overall, but it does have an effect.

4. Well you're so right on that -- representing the candidate. For those
candidates who seem to have such crazed, frothing at the mouth supporters -- it harms their OTHER supporters who are more logical and level-headed. Unfortunately, it's the ones who holler and name call that are the ones most of us remember and that IS reflected on their candidate.

It's at the point where when I see a certain candidate's name in the subject line, many times I don't even bother to enter the thread because it will more than likely just be bickering with no real substance.

5. And that is a shame
I tend to do the same thing. There is enough adversity in the world. I don't have to go out and look for more.

I've been playing with images. I finally figured out how to do it. What do you think? Does it look okay? I'm going to try and change it on a regular basis, just to keep it interesting.

Edited for failure to proof before posting. Again.

9. I am SO sick of hearing that!
I'm trying to move on, but some people are "stuck" it seems. I wouldn't dare say this on GDP.

22. I love Al Gore
but I don't think he is our savior who will magically solve all our problems. The work he is doing on global climate change is brilliant and this is where I believe he is the most effective. I think a lot of "Gore for President" folks are looking for vindication, which I can appreciate, but I think he has been vindicated. He doesn't need to win another election to do that.

One of our best ex-presidents!

24. I think becoming Prez would out of necessity scatter his focus and he would
be less effective in his climate change crusade. My fantasy is that he gets some heady Presidential appointment and is given free rein to continue to work his magic with the power (such as it remains) of the US behind him. Plus, he could actually GET the US involved in a REAL effort to combat the problems.

I heard Madeline Albright say, when asked about traveling to Muslim countries as a WOMAN SOS, "it's not hard to get someone to listen to you when you arrive in a big white jet that has The United States of America in bold letters emblazoned on it.

I'd like to see Gore with that kind of power behind him as he follows his passion.

25. You paint a beautiful picture!
I can see that. Gore needs to be where he can be the most effective and sadly that isn't necessarily in the White House. I'm generally afraid to even suggest such a thing on a GDP thread as it would start a flame war. Too many people get involved in politics with their blinders on.

12. Thank you Debi for saying that! You are too.
Just don't read any of my comments in some of the Hillary threads.

And don't read my responses when someone goes after Biden

Cuz if you did, you might not be saying that about this Bidenite.
