I never took the high road. but at least I've never ran around accusing others of not being "REAL DEMOCRATS" like the kooch lovers.
the race is not going to be nearly as interesting without joe there. he was the one who brought life to the debates. hopefully obama took some lessons from him about what it takes to be a leader and not just wank on about "hope."
theres an old saying, hope for the best prepare for the worst. they need to take a lesson from joe on that and be ready to fight.

Lots of good folks here whose posts I have admired over the months. I am so sorry.
You had me convinced to switch to Biden should Edwards have been the one who slipped. I do think that in many ways Biden has strengths that Edwards does not have. However, I strongly believe that focusing first on the domestic situation, especially the plight of the have-nots, is a greater priority than straightening out the mess in foreign affairs. Both are important, of course, and I am not certain that I have the last word on this, either.
Biden made a strong and passionate case for the need to put some sanity back into our approach to the rest of the world. That of course is just the beginning of what he was offering us. One thing he has that the two front runners lack, in my opinion, is some sense of the depth and magnitude of the crisis we are in and a no-nonsense pragmatic approach combined with an obvious love for country and for the principles we hold dear. "Change" is just too vague as a platform as is "hope." Emotions are not something you can turn on and off artificially, as though if we all suddenly started feeling "hope" things would magically get better, or if we said we wanted to "heal the divisions" people who are hurting would suddenly be made whole. Real human beings are hurting in real and very specific ways. Being "ready for change" or conjuring up "hope" does nothing for those people.
I would like to divide the heels, not heal the divide, and run the renegades and fear-mongers and traitors and criminals out of public service. People are without hope for a reason, they are angry for a reason, they are hurting because someone is hurting them, and they are being intentionally divided by people who profit from dividing them.
It is very saddening to me that Biden did not get more of a hearing and more respect.

12. Yes, Biden saw the big picture |
|
and showed how our foreign policies affect our domestic policies. Our world has gotten smaller and everything is connected. Few people presented it as clearly as he did. I have received quite an education from following Joe Biden, so at least it isn't a loss.

13. That was a real nice post - thanks again. |

The truth is, that all of the Dem candidates bring something unique to the table.
I read a post somewhere last nite that went something like this.
Biden should get the presidency because of his seniority. Dodd should be majority leader in the Senate. Clinton should be head of education. Edwards should be head of commerce. Kucinich should be SoS. Richardson head of energy. I forgot what they said for Obama and Gravel.
But you get the picture. And it would be just about perfect.
