Nothing against Carney, but there's another Delaware politician Obama would have preferred introduce him: Senator Joe Biden, one-time presidential hopeful, foreign-policy sage, and Democratic senior statesman. Alas, there were no Biden sightings this afternoon, but that didn't stop Obama from singing his praises.

Obama said he was "proud of the campaign that ran, the knowledge that he brought to bear, the vision on foreign and domestic policy he applied to every debate. He is an outstanding chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, he was an outstanding candidate for president of the United States, he's a great friend of mine."

Translation: Joe, please, please endorse me.
