I just put my first person ever on ignore.
Dissed Joe - and he's not even running any more.

2. There were a few too many - maybe I'm just tired but I've just pledged my
support for Obama.

Well, not really pledged my support (as in Joe-type of support), but I'm now pretty much down on Hillary.

But I still love YOU, Pirhana!

3. Well - I am really down on Obama, and especially some of his supporters....
I cannot believe the bullshit that has been thrown at me by some of the supporters of the unity candidate.

anyway - I'll just stay out of your way until this is over.

I support Obama in spite of many of his supporters here at DU. I'm sure that Gateley, as well as I, respect you and your right to support Hillary. As Gateley and I discussed in another thread, we like it here because we can discuss different viewpoints in a place of respect. You must not stay out of anybody's way. I look forward to your daily posts as much as anyone else's.

5. Since gateley is having an issue with the Hillary supporters (as she posted in gdp) and I
am having an issue with the Obama supporters; I think it's best that we don't have an issue with each other. Just not worth losing 'friends' over.

This is US in here! The Bidenites! We don't care who each other supports, we have a BOND.

This isn't a forum where we'll be debating "your" candidate vs "my candidate".

And I think we can all agree that there are supporters of BOTH who are despicable human beings.

We're here because we're friends. We honor and respect each others' choices.

Don't you DARE "stay out of the way". You belong here!

:spank:

EDIT to add -- I'm not having a problem with "Hillary supporters" - even though that's what I said in my whiny post (which I now which I hadn't posted).

There were just a couple of assholes who pissed me off and I responded immaturely. There are plenty of HRC's supporters who I not only don't have a problem with, I like them a LOT.

Would you just knock it off? We're here for each other. Period.

10. gateley -
Sorry if I sounded grumpy before. I was.
The other nite an Obama supporter called me an asshole. There maybe times
when I deserve to be reigned in, but this wasn't one of them. The same nite I had
an Obama supporter tell me to stfu.

The truth is, it's not Obama that I dislike - it's some of his supporters that really push me against him. And when I saw your post in gd-p, it just hit a nerve.
It's so different than when we were supporting Joe. We were always posting about what he
did, what he said. Now all that is out there is the Obama supporters bashing Hillary, and the
Hillary supporters bashing Obama. It's like both sides are doing all they can to out do the other side, to see who can tear down who better. And the msm is pretty much the same. ugh....

I keep telling myself I am going to stay away from gd-p, but I must be a glutton for punishment because I will stay away for a couple of days, but then I go back.

It's not you - it's me-- a frustrated me.

12. No - you weren't grumpy -- I was just alarmed that you felt as though
our current (lukewarm) choice of candidates would drive a wedge between us -- like we'd automatically become like THOSE PEOPLE.

I realize I overacted and I attribute it to my not having my thyroid medication for a week - I should recognize the symptoms by now (and I need it since I have NO thyroid).

It was actually a couple of people finding a post about Joe's plagiarism thing amusing that set me off. It wasn't just a reference to the occurrence, but Joe was the butt of the joke.

Anyway -- it's me, too. Frustrated and vowing to get my prescription filled tomorrow!

So if you see me out there - just ignore me :P

16. I feel the same way.
Some of the rabid supporters of both camps have make goddamn primaries a living hell. I try not to look, but I can't help myself. I see the poo flinging and I can't help myself.

I said I wasn't going to do it, but my gloves have come off. If I have pissed off any of you that support HRC, I am sorry. I will vote for her if she gets the nod, that's not going to change. I try to remind myself daily who the enemy is = McBush.

8. I use ignore as a time-saver and blood-pressure lower-er
I checked out the list recently and a bunch of them were tombstoned, so I'm not really ignoring that many. Sometimes I see an outrageous post from someone and I just think, hmm, that's not what I'm here for and I don't have time for that. Gets in the way of interesting stuff. I've noticed a lot of flame wars look to me like
person
ignored
person
ignored
person
ignored

etc.

15. You KNOW it's bad when you have to ignore members of your own group
I had to put two people that I really like from my photography group on ignore because they were baiting and snarking me. I hate to do it, but this is what it comes to sometimes. I would rather ignore people until the primaries are all over rather than trash a relationship.

I got some nasty replies from two anti-Biden idiots on a thread I put up last night. They promptly went on ignore.

I can't wait until this thing is settled one way or the other. It's been damaging, I agree.

I will not however provoke any of my fellow Bidenites. :grouphug:

20. That's almost alarming that people with whom you have a "relationship" --
e.g. your photography group pals -- would bait and snark you.

I don't recall that happening when Biden was in the race.

Sometimes I feel like this is the end of The Beatles "A Day in the Life". The cacophony of instruments just getting more and more frenzied until the climax, exploding, then the peace. I think the world is heading in that direction.

Another good analogy is an atom bomb. :eyes:

If I say something to piss you off, I would welcome your comment and I know we could discuss it. But I would never intentionally provoke you or the others, and I know you guys feel the same.

:grouphug:

We're so fucking mature.

18. Joe says in his family
if you need to ask for help, it's too late. It looks like that is true here too. We're able to solve our problems and pick each other up before it's too late. I always feel better after I visit this group.
