Yet - Sunni's make up the largest population of Iraq.

Shi'ite's agree with Biden's plan but not until things settle down more in their region. 2 major shi'ite leaders on opposite sides agreed to work together for peace between the different Shi'ite groups.
Interesting reading (to me anyway)-

1. Actually the Shia are the majority
at about 62% in Iraq. The Sunnis are dominate through Islam, but not in Iraq.

I read it and it was interesting. I'm learning something new every day.

5. Thanks for correcting me. What is Maliki - other than a bushbot?

On edit - I'm just learning about foreign relations.

I spent my whole working life working at a bank - the same bank that Biden gets bashed for having ties to:rofl:

7. Shia
I kind of feel for him - beholding to Bush and the Shite population. His life is literally on the line.

8. From what I have been reading, he is not very well respected by other Iraqis.
I agree. His hands are tied by Bush and he is not able to run the gov't the way he wants to.
This is why we should not have influence on other countries elections. That was what the discussion was on Countdown last nite - the part I was hoping Bidenites would watch.

10. I love that pic of Biden that you have - but I really liked the one with him and Bono.
That was a good statement.

You inspired me to make a change.
But in my case, I change my underwear more often than my pics.

Not too many good Biden pics out there.
We need to find some pics of him having fun.

2. This helped me a LOT to better understand why some of the Iraqis were for, and
others against the plan. I know the plan calls for an equitable distribution of oil revenues, but I wonder how they'll get everyone to agree on that. It would be great if oil was discovered in the Sunni region, but that's probably not a possibility.

Which brings up another question that's been on my mind:

So what's happening with the BBB amendment? I know it was tacked onto a bill - do we have to wait until the bill is implemented before we can start acting on the amendment?

Also, I think the next step has begun a bit -- with Biden going to Iraq to discuss the plan again. I wonder what's next?

I want this to get moving and see some good results so he can benefit from it in the Primaries...

Any input appreciated.

6. Is Biden going to Iraq - again? I didn't know that.
I know he requested to meet with Bush. But as we know, Bush doesn't have time for people that don't agree with him.

imho - I think he already benefited. He took a chance and got bi-partisan support. That is pretty impressive.

12. I thought he'd already gone - shortly after the amendment passed. Could be wrong. nt

13. In my fantasy world, where I obviously spend a lot of time, by the time
of the early primaries the beginnings of Biden's plan are being implemented and some troops are starting to come home. THAT would get peoples' attention.

I need to get my butt up to Iowa and crash one of those coffee gatherings and ask him these questions point blank. Straighten him out a little.

14. I live in the same fantasy world!
I would love nothing more to sit down with Biden and have him educate me.

I have sooo many questions. And I would like to shake his hand.
