I check in on a regular basis, so I'm always pretty much around. I just don't have as much to say as I used to. It is nice to "see" familiar faces now and then. At least there is some sanity in this little corner of DU.

I frequently look in here. I read many of the links. I'm sorry I don't participate more. I should......this is the most level headed group around.
I think I was alittle ways over 300 posts when Joe dropped out. So you see I don't post much. I do spend a tremendous amount of time reading though. I've always been that way. Just a quiet guy..:)

I can't get interested in either of the candidates. I don't care which of them gets the nomination. I'll vote for whoever gets it, but not with any enthusiasm. It's another 'vote against someone rather than for someone' election for me.

I have absolutely no doubt that Joe Biden would have gone down as one of our best president's ever. But the media wanted an American Idol campaign & we got stuck with American Idol candidates. Was it Gately who came up with the American Idol analogy? It's so perfect.

Our media is so complicit in everything that has gone wrong the last seven years.

49. I started becoming interested when I realized that my Primary vote

might actually make a difference (May 6), so I began paying attention.

I'll be disappointed if my candidate doesn't get the nom, but nothing compared to the devastation I felt when Joe withdrew.

I'm behind and like my candidate, but not DEVOTED, as I was with Joe.

I miss Joe and haven't gotten over it yet. Completely disenchanted with the race at the present. More and more I get po'd that the right man isn't our nominee and don't understand why the Dems didn't rally behind Joe knowing he was and still is the most capable. Things have become so crazy in this election that I am at a loss for words most of the time. And it is hard to not hack on the candidate I don't like that I just read mostly. How McCain keeps his polling high against our candidates is mind boggling. The masses must not know what he truly stands for, another bush.....

It has been comforting to see Biden get air time with the Iraq issue. He is good.

I'm not really hanging much @ DU right now...maybe I'll feel different once we have a candidate. It just seems like DU is doing all the dirty work for the Republican party. I feel like there are republican plants on this board. I can go to Free Republic and read the same stuff. I wouldn't dare say on the general boards.

I'm doing a lot of escapist pursuits right now. I read the celebrity boards and I am following the "Real Housewives of New York."

Keep up the good fight, Gately. If I don't start feeling better about things, I may vote socialist party or write in Joe for President. Yeah, I know I'm throwing away my vote.

50. Maybe your interest will perk up a bit

when we DO get a candidate. I honestly think those who supported Biden gave a lot of thought to the issues and how best to tackle them, so I'm thinking when it gets down to it -- keeping McCain out of the WH, the spark will ignite again.

As to DU, it's just become a war between supporters (which I admit I get sucked into too often) and nothing of real substance. It's not reflective of the real world, which is a relief.
