6. Archive of the hearing

I'm listening to Joe right now. It's hard to follow the hearings in bits and pieces, but I missed the start. It's actually interesting - he's talking about the legal and historical nature of these Status of Forces and other agreements.

Crazy Joe - trying to follow the constitution and legal precedent!

I'm think I'm starting to "get" the big problem - correct me if I'm off-track. The UN authorization for us to be there expires at the end of December. Then there are several weeks of extra-lame-duck Bush before the next president comes in. So there's a weird time gap where we may not have clear authority to even be there, much less the nature of our agreement. But on the other hand, a new agreement could be a thorny thing for Obama or Clinton to deal with.

Anyway, I can only multitask so much so back to work and listening to Joe.
