Passing of Tim Russert
June 13, 2008

Washington, DC – United States Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (D-DE) issued the following statement today:

“Tim Russert was a man of tremendous honor and integrity, with a great love of politics and a deep commitment to our country. Anyone who spent time around Tim could feel immediately the love he had for his family. Our nation lost a pillar of journalism today, but above all else
we lost a good and decent man.”

recounting that when he had his first kid, Russert was one of the first people who called him, and spoke for about 20 minutes on his experience of becoming a father.

His death has affected a lot of people deeply. Me, too, even though I didn't know him personally.
