Post your favorite Biden quotes -
Edited on Wed Jul-16-08 03:13 PM by pirhana
Instead of focusing on these forces, Biden, the Democratic Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee charged that Bush “has fixated on a small number of radical groups that hate America, turning them into a ten-foot tall existential monster that dictates every move we make."

Have I told you that I love this guy?

(on edit - I thought this could be an ongoing thread since he constantly knocks our socks off with his amazing wit.)

1. Somehow the word 'brilliant' falls short, doesn't it.
He's STILL knocking us over, guys!

3. He just has an amazing command of the use of language.
He phrases things in ways that not many people can.
And that's why it never bothered me too much when his foot gets stuck in his mouth.

Hard to believe he was once a stutterer.

4. Really? BURNS agreed with it?
Isn't that who Bush is sending to Iran, or am I getting confused (more confused)?

7. From his intro, it's clear Biden appreciates Burns. Burns didn't do as well with Paul though
Ron Paul asked him some tough ?s in the house committee - saw video on DU somewhere.

8. And another -
About bsh's removing ban on drilling for oil -

Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., promptly condemned the move as an eleventh-hour "rape" of ocean resources by oil interests.

12. My favorite (lately) is when he was on Meet the Press...

to Graham. It was (or something very similar) "You have a right to your own opinion, not your own facts."

Loved it...don't have a link, but will try to find it (eventually) and provide it. A perfect smackdown for the swill Graham was sputtering.

on edit: Here we go. Well that was easy!

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/06/22/meet-the-press-graham-flip-flops-on-off-shore-drilling-biden-youre-entitled-to-your-own-opinion-not-your-own-facts/

SEN. GRAHAM: Well, what you do is you have a supply-demand problem. The more domestic supply, the better we are off as a nation. But to get away from fossil fuels in general is a goal of Senator McCain. One thing you do on the power side is add nuclear power. We cannot address climate change without replacing oil and coal-fired plants with nuclear power. But when it comes to domestic supply, we’re talking about 50 miles off the coast of South Carolina with the consent of the legislature where the state gets half the revenue. I think in an environmentally sound way we can extract deep sea exploration oil and gas off our coast that will allow us to be more energy independent. John is for that. I am for that. And I believe the state of South Carolina will be for that.

SEN. BIDEN: We already can do that. Let’s get the facts. You’re entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts. Forty million acres leased offshore, number one. Number two, the first well to be dug from the time they lease, if Lindsey gives them access to more area, it’ll take 10 years from the time the lease is let to the time oil comes out of the bottom of the sea in the new leases.
